October 28, 1943 – August 15, 2024
William Albert Grant, 80, of Montague, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024. He was born October 28, 1943, in Hart, the son of Julian and Mildred (Hepworth) Grant.
On November 6, 2004, William Married Judy Paterson, and they spent 20 years together.
William proudly served our country in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1964. He was stationed in Hawaii and was a part of the Johnson Island Atomic Bomb Testing Center.
William graduated from Muskegon High School in 1961. After high school, he joined the United States Navy where he received his training as an Electrician. William worked for CWC for 22 ½ years and Howmet for another 22 ½ years, until he retired in 2010.
William was a very active and devoted member of the White Lake Senior Center for the past 14 years. He enjoyed woodworking and was always building something. Fishing on White Lake and Hunting with his grandchildren was always something very special to him. William and Judy spent a lot of time traveling together, they visited Prince Edward Island, in Canada, Yellowstone National Park, and enjoyed 3 months in Florida during the winter.
William is survived by: his wife, Judy (Paterson) Grant; William & Judy Ann (Forrest) Grant's children, Robin (Mike) Huizenga and Craig (Ann) Grant; Judy (Paterson) Grant's children, Michael (Kari) Reaume and Shane (Jennifer) Reaume; William's grandchildren, Thomas (Jessica) Morey, Mathew (Sarah) Burgess, Rene (Anthony) Soto, Chelsea (Rob) Michaud, Brett (Danielle) Grant, Zachary Grant, Ethan Reaume, Vivian Reaume, Chloe Reaume, and Riley Reaume; William's ten great-grandchildren; William's four sisters and one brother; and William's cousin & close friend, John Seaver.
William was preceded in death by: his parents; mother, Clara Grant; wife, Judy Ann (Forrest) Grant; and great-grandson, Luka Michaud.
Memorial services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, 413 South Mears Avenue, Whitehall, MI 49461, with visitation being held at 2:00 PM until time of service. No proceeding luncheon will be provided after the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the White Lake Senior Center.
