Mr. William J. MacLean, age 81, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007. He was born December 17, 1925 in Bicknell, IN to Robert and Leona (Litzbarske) MacLean. He married the former Dorothy Mae McCue in Davenport, IA on August 26, 1944 and she preceded him death on August 28, 2006. Bill was the District Horticultural Agent for the Michigan State University Extension Service, for 30 years, until his retirement in 1980. He served his country during World War II with the United States Navy. Bill was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Pentwater and the Hart Rifle and Pistol Club. He survived by 5 sons, Jerad MacLean of Santa Cruz, CA, Thomas (Jeri) MacLean of Cheboygan, MI, Ronald MacLean of Derby, CT, Todd (Nancy) MacLean of Kent City, MI and Scott (Laurie) MacLean of Rogue River, OR; four grandchildren, Garett, Matthew, Dana, Alison. Along with his wife, Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Robert MacLean. Memorial contributions in memory of Bill may be given to the St. James Episcopal Church or to Cherry Blossom Manor.
