William "Bill" Norbert Nolff, 92, of Traverse City died May 4, 2021, at his home with his two granddaughters, Julie and Jennifer, at his side. Bill was born December 19, 1928, in Carleton, Michigan, in Monroe County, the son of Henry Nolff and Edna (Charbeneau) Nolff.
Bill was a veteran of the Korean War and World War II, serving in the US ARMY 11 th Airborne Division. He was employed as a sheet metal worker for over 40+ years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of the Gold Wing Road Rider's Association. Bill enjoyed staying busy by mowing lawns, plowing snow, and building bird houses and clocks. He also enjoyed watching the Tigers game and reading Louis L'Amour Books.
Bill is survived by: his daughter, Terri (Mike) Yensz of New Hampshire; his daughter, Judy (John) York of Bear Lake; his brother, Louie (Sharon) Nolff of Florida; grandchildren, Jennifer (Bob) Smith, Julie (Sam) Knoop, Bill (Erin Marie) Blodgett, Ben (Laura) Blodgett, Brad Demma, Jenny (Matt) Adams, and Rachel Yensz; and great-grandchildren, Cailin Knoop, Brianna Smith, Nicholas Smith, Andrew Blodgett, Ariana Demma, Zachary & Jacob Adams, and Jordan Yensz.
Bill was preceded in death by: his son, William Nolff Jr. in 1985; his wife, JoAnne Nolff in 2013; and nine siblings.
A private celebration of Bill's life will be held at a later date. Bill will be laid to rest in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
