Mr. William James Wilson, Jr., age 79, of Ludington, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Home. He was born May 27, 1937, in Muskegon to William and Ann Wilson Sr. On December 1, 1953, in Kalamazoo, William married Julia Mae Hunt. He was employed at CWC Textron for 35 years as a camshaft straightener. William proudly served our Nation in the Air Force and was a member of Amvets Post 1988 in Baldwin and the American Legion Post 69 in Whitehall. Mr. Wilson enjoyed cooking, and just about anything outdoors including hunting, camping, horseshoes, boating, or canoeing.
William is survived by one daughter: Patricia (Norm) Talmedge of New Era and one son: William (Katherine) Wilson III of Ludington; six grandchildren: Brandon,William Wilson IV, Jeffrey Wilson, Theresa Harness, Jimmy Harness, Jeremy Harness; four great grandchildren; step granddaughter, Kathy Prowant; six step grandchildren; two step great great grandchildren; one sister: Elizabeth "Betty" Salyers of Virgina; and companion Charlene Holt of Muskegon. William is also survived by numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Julia Mae Wilson, two daughters, Pamela Kay Fetters and Vicki Lynn Harness, brother, Robert John Wilson, and grandson, Chris Hutchinson.
The funeral service for Mr. Wilson will be Friday, July 29, 2016, at 11:00 am at the King Funeral Home in Ludington, 301 N. Jebavy Drive, Ludington, MI 49431. Visitation will be held Thursday July 28, from 6-8 p.m. at the King Funeral Home of Ludington. Mr. Wilson will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery in Montague, Michigan.
