Mr. Willie J. Jones age 57, of Walkerville died Friday, May 16, 2008. He was born in Reed City on May 12, 1951 to Willie and Mary (Winfield) Hollis. Mr. Jones was in farming and had also worked at Reynolds Aluminum in Grand Rapids. He attended Ferris State University's Hospitality Program. Following his college training, he became a wonderful cook. Willie enjoyed outdoor life, especially fishing and golfing and was an avid sports fan. He loved his sibling sisters, whom he always wanted to be boys, but his sisters could always count on him being there for them. Willie is survived by his mother, Mary Hollis of Walkerville; 2 sisters, Mrs. Josie (Edward) Foxx of Walkerville and Mrs. Joyce (Ralph) Coleman of Idlewild; niece, Shashu Wells of Grand Rapids; 3 nephews, Molaki Wells of Walkerville, Edward Foxx of Muskegon and Willie James Jones II of Idlewild; uncle, Clyde (Vicki) Winfield of Kalmazoo; 2 aunts, Jean Marie Winfield of Detroit and Lillian Brown of Grand Rapids; also a host of cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Hollis, his grandparents, Ferdinand and Beatrice Winfield, his uncle, Roy Winfield. The Memorial Service for Mr. Jones will be held Friday, May 23, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. from the Tate-King Funeral Home. Visitation will one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the funeral home for family expenses.
