Wilma Katherine Roberts Keson, 86, of Ludington, died Friday, September 1, 2017 at Spectrum Health Ludington.  She was born May 2, 1931, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Ivan and Bernice (O'Connell) Roberts.

Wilma moved to Custer in 1934 where she grew up with her siblings, June (Abernathy), Mary (Saya) and Earl Roberts, and spent much of her time with lifelong best friend Martha Sanders.

After graduating from Mason County Eastern, Wilma worked at the Star Watch Case, where she met her future husband, Richard.  Richard and Wilma were married on June 16, 1951, and spent most of their married life living in one of three homes on Hansen Road in Custer.

Wilma and Richard had two daughters, Linda (Rogers) & Kathy.  Wilma was a full time homemaker who enjoyed cooking, canning, and baking; sewing clothes and crocheting, and gardening her prized flowers.  She taught Sunday School and Bible School throughout the years at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Scottville, and worked part-time as an aid at Mason County Central Junior High.  After Richard retired, they traveled all over the world, with a favorite destination being Australia and New Zealand.  They also spent many winters traveling across the states in their RV, visiting all of the major national parks.

In her later years, Wilma's pride and joy were her grandchildren  – Kim, Kelly, and Kevin Rogers, Shelly and Lissa Rogers.  She enjoyed spending time with all of them, playing games, doing crafts, and making big, home-cooked meals for her family.

For the past three years, Wilma has lived at Ludington Woods in the Memory Care Unit.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard in 2009, and her sister Mary.  She is survived by her two daughters Linda and Kathy, siblings Earl and June, all 5 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at King Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Ludington.  Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery.

Memorials will be directed to the Lakeshore Resource Center/Food Club (reflecting their values in helping others).
