Wilma Fern Melendy, 88, of Murray, Kentucky, formerly of Kingsley, died Friday, August 26, 2022, in Murray, Kentucky.

Wilma was born on March 6, 1934, in Kingsley, the daughter of LeRoy Delancey and Alfreda Bancroft.  She graduated from Fife Lake Schools in 1952.

Prior to her marriage to Raymond Melendy in June 1957, Fern did domestic work around the Kingsley area.  After her marriage, Fern was a homemaker and mother.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, and raising chickens and selling the eggs.  She received so much comfort and joy from her strong religious belief and the special relationship she had with her Lord and Savior.

Wilma is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Stafford of Murray, Kentucky; sister, Theola Hilbert of Traverse Cit; and a brother, Gerald Delancey of Kingsley.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Merle Delancey; and sister, Anita Fasel.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel, with Pastor Bruce Sheets officiating.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Kingsley.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home.

A luncheon will follow interment at Kingsley Baptist Church
