Mrs. Wilna Maxine Wiedman, age 95, of Hart, passed away Monday, January 30, 2012. She was born May 3, 1916, in Hart, to Floyd and Ora (Hasty) Marsh. She was joined in marriage to John Alden Wiedman on May 23, 1937, in Walkerville. He preceded her in death in December 2007. Mrs. Wiedman was active in the Hart United Methodist Church, the Hart Homemakers Club, the Oceana Council on Aging, and the Sweet Adelines.
During World War II she was one of the American Red Cross Gray Ladies. She never met a stranger, just a friend she had not yet met. She was always active in the community.
Wilna is survived by her children, Kay (David) Trommater of Hoffman Estates, IL, Rex (Susan) Wiedman of Mears, and Susan (Bill) Adams of Hart. She also has seven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, her brother, Russell Marsh, and a great-grandson, Bill Rice, Jr.
Memorial services for Mrs. Wiedman will be Saturday, February 4, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Hart United Methodist Church with Rev. Rebecca Wieringa officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Hart Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Hart United Methodist Church or the Oceana Council on Aging.
