Mrs. Winnie Mae Purdy, age 64, of Walkerville, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016. She was born August 17, 1951, in Coal Run, OH to Harry and Norma (Wolfe) Neville. She graduated from high school and married Byron Purdy on October 20, 1971 in Hart. They were married forty-four years. Winnie was employed as a cook and waitress at the Golden Inn in Mears and also at RJ's in Walkerville. She enjoyed flower gardening, plants, crocheting, and most of all loved her grandchildren.

Winnie is survived by her husband, Byron Purdy, Sr. of Walkerville; two daughters, Crystal (Cody) Scheel of Walkerville, Lisa (Jeff) Shafer of Walkerville; three sons, Daryl (Sherry) Bozeman of Hart, Kelly Purdy of Walkerville, Byron (Erin) Purdy, Jr. of Walkerville; fifteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Collins of Hart, and Debbie Biland-Neville. Winnie was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Darlene Lopez; and one brother, Mike Neville.

The funeral service for Mrs. Purdy will be Saturday, June 18, 2016, at 6:00 pm at Elbridge Community Church in Hart with Pastor Dennis Hintz officiating. Interment will take place at Elbridge Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, June 18, one hour prior to the service at Elbridge Community Church, 2370 North 136th Avenue, Hart, MI.
